Emy Luz lives with her parents and 5 younger siblings. Emy's parents are farmers and in order to reach high school each day, Emy Luz and other students from Soccma would take a 1 hour ride in the back of a cattle truck, and then walk for 2 hours. She has shown herself to be a leader: she was the president of her school and is willing to fight for what is needed in her community so that it can move forward. Emy will study both Culinary Arts and English. Her community, Soccma, is the poorest in the Ollantaytambo district.
“I want to return to my community after my degree because I would like to apply myself and do all I can to learn in the Mosqoy program to help my siblings and other people.”
