Elmer has 13 siblings between the ages of 7 and 30. They want to pursue post-secondary education, but there are not enough financial resources. Elmer is from one of the weaving communities who work with the Q'ente Textile Revitalization Society. This community is home to a group of 30 women (mostly mothers) trying to make a living off of traditional and natural weavings. Elmer's dad is a farmer and driver and Elmer's mom is a housewife.

“Mosqoy means "dream". I want to participate in the Mosqoy project so I can make those dreams a reality, those dreams of studying. I long to study and in that way have a professional career and not be left behind without succeeding in the future.”

I am writing from the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas, city of Ollantaytambo-Cusco; warm greetings. Once again I want to thank you for your generosity and all of the help that you are giving us in the necessary steps to complete our educations. Your help will be invaluable and I will always bear it in mind. Thanks to this support I am receiving, I will achieve the great dream I had and be able to support my family and have a better life than them.

I always had a yearning to study. But despite working very hard in my studies in order to come out ahead, sometimes one does not have the means to be able to do these studies. Moreover, in my family there are many children and the support of my parents is not enough for everyone. But I give thanks to God and to you for this great support that you are giving me, I will always remember it. I hope that I will be the best and that I will be a good example for my siblings and help them so that they can also be equal to me. I am infinitely thankful for all of this. I can tell you that my family and I are well despite the harshness of the climate – there was a lot of rain and this caused the rivers to flood. It was very disastrous, it ruined all of our sowing, and our parents were very worried because there wasn’t anything to eat. However, the majority of the corn that was sown survived. Thank God everything is getting better little by little.

The only thing that I want to do is to make the most of this great opportunity that you are giving me and in this way receive a good education and knowledge in post-secondary school. Because of this I will achieve the goal that I set myself: to help my family and others who are needy to better their quality of life. Here, most people suffer from lacks of money, good food, clothing, and education. But with your help I am sure that my classmates and I will give back to our communities and make things better.

For the immediate time, I send many greetings from my family and warm hugs from me.

With lots of affection and admiration,

Elmer
