Sangeeth is studying Physical Science at Eastern University. Sangeeth has completed a vocational training course at the Rural Vocational Training centre in Karaitivu in Information Communication Technology in 2006. Before that he was a student at Carmel Fatima College in Kalmunai Sri Lanka.
Sangeeth is the oldest son in a family of 4. He has a brother and two sisters. He would like to get a job in business when he graduates from university, so that he can help support his family and help his younger siblings go to school.
Sangeeth started University in Sept 2008 and this scholarship will cover his second year of of University!
We are happy to report that all our scholars in Sri Lanka are alive and well despite the terrible violence in that country. For several months we lost touch with one of our female students who is studying law at Jaffna - her parents had gone to see if she was safe and were there when the war intensified and they too dissappeared. Our Sri lanka office was very worried for their safety, however, eventually they were able to make contact again. All the universities are open and classes are continuing.
