Sadiqullah is 20 years old, and is currently studying agriculture. He would like to further his education with Business Management training from the Afghan-Canadian Community Center. After completing his education, he would like to work as a project manager, financial officer, or translator with the United Nations or a non-governmental organization. He hopes to obtain a career that will support his family and improve the agriculture industry in Kandahar. When not studying, Sadiqullah enjoys reading and playing soccer.
The Afghan-Canadian Community Center (ACCC) is a post-secondary institution which provides courses in Business Management, Information Technology, English and Health Care to more than 700 students in Kandahar, Afghanistan. More than half the school’s students are women, who attend at no charge. Proceeds from the Men’s Program are used to fund women’s education programs at the ACCC.
The ACCC has been featured as a success story by several international and national media outlets, including CBC, BBC, Global National, Canadian Press, the Toronto Star, Afghan National Television, Ariana Television, Afghanistan Alive Magazine, Kandahar Television and many others. Financial support for the school is provided by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Canadian International Learning Foundation (CanILF).
