Ruth Tumushabe is eighteen years old and currently attends St. Lawrence Schools and Colleges. A native of Nyamirima Village, Uganda, Ruth hopes to graduate in 2010, and would very much like to continue her education at the university level. While at school, she is involved with the Scripture Union and in her free time she enjoys singing, reading novels, and spending time with friends.

Ruth also cares deeply for her community and hopes to put her education to use by helping them in whatever ways she can. She is currently a member of CORBURWAS, a community based organization started by students in Kyangwali Refugee Camp that aims to unite the people of Kyangwali from Congo, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, and Sudan.  Amongst other things, she helps raise funds for future club projects through farming. Ruth’s education has allowed her to further her goals of helping out her community.
