Nida would like to join the Army and take up a career as a Doctor. On completing grade 8 with a very good average mark of 81% she has demonstrated the potential of achieving her goal. However, her father’s income is not sufficient to meet the ongoing educational expenses while providing for Nida and her 6 siblings.
Tameer-e-Millat Hazara Public School & College
The TMH public school in Shinkiari was damaged beyond repair when an earthquake struck the area in October 2005. Home of many of the students were also destroyed. 80,000 lives were lost and many thousands injured and left homeless. The school would have been closed if it were not for local and international charities that put up temporary tents so that the students' education could continue. A substantial donation by the Maria-Helena Foundation built a new school on what was the previous school’s playground and this is where the students study today.
