Jonathan dreams to be a chef or mechanic - as a top student in his highschool he has been offered a space in Americana Institute in Cusco to pursue a career. While he dreams to provide a better life for his family, with 3 siblings and on only his father's farming income they are not be able to afford the cost of post-secondary education.
"I want to study a professional career because I don't want to end up like my parents. I want to be a good professional and through this be able to help my family and friends, and make something of myself. I think this project is a good help to us and that it can help us realize our dreams. To me it seems like Project Mosqoy can help tons of people."
Thank you for listening to Jonathan's story!
Jonathan is nearing completion of his first year of university in good standing, and is therefore eligible for a second year's funding!
Please note that this scholarship is for $400. Whereas the first year scholarship covered her total annual costs of $1000, this year Education Generation is funding $400 and Mosqoy has secured alternative funding for the remainder.
Letter from Jonathan Medina
Thank you for remembering us and for supporting us in our studies. I want to give you thousands and thousands of thank you`s. I am grateful to all for the life that I have now. Greetings to everyone on my behalf!
My studies are going very well. I am in the second semester and I am really enjoying the courses that I am currently taking.
In my free time, I like to read a lot, preferably books on ethic that refer to values. I also like to listen to romantic music. I have plans for the future when I am a professional. Me and a classmate are thinking about opening a support college in the province and continue to support more youth who have little economic resources.
Well, I hope you like the words I have written!
Take care; we all love you from Group 2, a big hug from all in the group.

The students have begun their second semester of studies and they are waiting for their grades for the first semester. The students are all doing really well and are happy living together with the other Mosqoy students in Cusco. They have also enjoyed having an English tutor come regularly to help them with their studies. The students have expressed a great deal of thanks to all of the sponsors who have made their dreams possible.
